1947-1954 Chevy Truck Latch Kits - Prototyping is done!!!

All of the prototype work is done. The latches work great and we have put in the order for a full production run. Now for those of you that may not know about the Altman Easy Latch, it is the only bolt-on bear claw latch kit for early model vehicles.
No welding necessary, this kit uses your exterior handles, interior handles, and your exterior door lock cylinders. We had an enormous amount of requests for a kit to be made that will work with the 1947-1954 Chevy trucks. It took a lot of work and several trips back to the drawing board but we got it done. Each kit, like all of our others, will come with everything you need to install the kit in your truck with as much ease as we could provide. These kits will also come with new straps to link your interior handle to your new Altman Easy Latch kit. All of our Altman Easy Latch kits are proudly designed, made, and assembled in the USA. Each component is plated or coated to prevent corrosion. A few features that we paid close attention to:

The door shell - If you know these trucks, you know the door shell has an elaborate stamped design in the corner right where the latch goes. Our precision designed dies stamp the latch plates to match this factory design.
The turn-down style exterior handles - Some of the input that we received showed that many of you have problems with these handles drooping. Our latch components are meticulously designed with close tolerances to insure no slop in your exterior handles. We also incorporated a strong return spring to bring the heavy handle back to position after opening your doors.
No room - There is very little room between the window channel and the door shell on these trucks. We addressed this by going back and reconfiguring our latch design and making it more compact. This was done with one thing in mind, we made certain it would be just as strong and durable as our larger design.

This kit was designed to work. We took input from you, and other enthusiasts like you, and created a kit that we would be proud to sell, and you would be proud to own. We are expecting to be able to ship the first kits at the beginning of May. We are now taking pre-orders. Those of you that don't want to miss your opportunity to get one of the first kits will also receive a discount of 15%. We will continue the 15% discount for those that pre-order a kit between now and the time we are ready to ship the first set.
